Milana Oliphant, Assistant Editor
Assistant Editor Milana Oliphant, 17, is a senior and this will be her second year in journalism. In addition to being a part of The Talon, she also likes to volunteer with NHS and Key Club, which work with local organizations to help people in our community. She is also involved in sports at CHS- playing basketball in the winter and rugby during the fall and spring with her club, Rugby Oregon. This year she is taking 3 college classes in order to prepare herself for college next year. Her goals for next fall are to attend Oregon State University and study environmental engineering.
Some of Milana’s hobbies outside of school are hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and hanging out with friends. For the majority of the summer and winter seasons you can find her at Mt. Hood with her family and friends doing some of these activities. The outdoors are something she is very passionate about and is part of what makes her want to study environmental engineering in college. She is taking journalism because she enjoys writing and the class helps to improve her writing and speaking skills. Milana specifically enjoys writing about features alongside the latest news going on in CHS. She cannot wait to see where journalism takes her this school year!
