Eagle Expo took place a few weeks ago, and the student projects and turn out was quite impressive, said Principal Mairi Scott-Aguirre.

The turn out was good this year, but it is very hard to tell how many people showed up, because people come from all over, and there is no sign in. There were many different kinds of showcases. Some of them included graphing and dilation projects from the math wing, poems from the English classes, graphic design posters, and a MESA club project.

Scott-Aguirre said, “For students, it is an important skill to be able to explain their work.” She explained how work has a better result when it is being shown to more people other than teachers.

Eagle Expo is important because it focuses on project based learning. It helps teachers become aware of the skills that are hard to teach their students, said Scott-Aguirre.

Scott-Aguirre said to spread the word about Eagle Expo, the administration must start by telling the families of the students. The most effective way is through Remind. Remind is a communication app that tells people what is going on in the school. Information about the event is sent out through this app. Another method they use to spread the word and auto dialer. This is the pre recorded phone message that goes out to parents.
