Fall Auditions: September 17th and 18th “Lost Girl”
“Lost Girl” is a contemporary play by Kimberly Belflower. It has not been performed on any other stage yet. This will be it’s first showing and Mrs. McCarty is excited to present it to CHS. “Lost Girl” is the epilogue to the story of Peter Pan, Wendy, and Neverland with a theme of coming of age. Students are greatly encouraged to come and be a part of this amazing new story because there is a chance for something truly beautiful to transpire here.
All CHS students are wanted. Come audition for the “Lost Girl” this Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. There is only one requirement: students can’t have more than one failing grade in the previous semester (Freshman excluded). Students should come prepared by filling out an online form prior to coming to the auditions. This form can be found on the Centennial home page. Locate the “Activities” tab and then click on drama. This will take you to a page with a link labeled “‘Lost Girl’ Audition Form”. No other pre-audition preparation is needed.
Auditions will start off with Kellie McCarty giving each student a copy of the script and about a half-an-hour to prepare. Whether you audition alone or with others will depend on if McCarty hands you a monologue or a group scene. McCarty will be the sole judge. Cast members chosen for the play will be announced on Friday with a list posted on the glass lobby doors outside the auditorium. There are a total of 12-14 positions available. In addition to the casting crew, there are also many technical positions available: make-up crew, costume crew, props crew, sound crew, stage crew, spot light, ushering, and student director.
All chosen participators of the play will meet up everyday of the week after school and sometimes Saturday from 3:30-6:00pm for practice. “Lost Girl” will be premiered on the 7th of November. It will also play on the 9th,14th, and 16th of November. The show will begin at 7:00 in the evening. Tickets available on the day of the show. $10 for adults, $8 for students under 18 and for senior citizens, and $5 for CHS students and staff.
