CHS Hosts Trades Fair On May 23
On May 23rd, from 1pm – 2:40pm, Centennial High School will be hosting a Trades and Living Wage Fair. This fair will be aimed at juniors and seniors looking for a path in life that may not directly include college. At this fair they can meet with businesses or unions and learn informations about apprenticeship opportunities, wages, and skill requirements. Possible businesses that will be there include:
- Carpenter Union
- Bricklayers/Tile Setters Union
- Cement Masons
- Electrical Union/Non Union
- Electrician – Power Linemen
- Elevator Constructor
- Equipment Operator/Operating Engineer Union/Non Union
- Exterior/Interior Specialist – Drywall
- Flooring Cover
- HVAC Non Union
- HVAC Union
- Ironworker Union
- Oregon Labor Union/Non Union
- Painter Union/Non Union
- Plumber Union
- Roofer Union
- Sheet Metal Union/Non Union
- Steamfitter Union
This fair is being assembled by Adam Olson, Luke Gayner, and Jeff Stanek. Information will be available soon, or students could approach them for any questions that need to be answered.
For those interested in going, the fair will be held either in front of the Auditorium or inside the Gym, depending on the weather.
