Wissler Stirs Up Cooking Classes
New culinary teacher Kathrin Wissler started working on Feb. 21, taking over for Matt Rockwell, who left to pursue work in the restaurant industry. She currently teaches Intro to Culinary 1 and 2, and Culinary Hospitality 1 and 2.
She has been teaching since 2005, and taught at Parkrose High School from 2005 to 2013 and at Reynolds from 2017 to 2018.
She is a proud graduate of Concordia University, with a Master of Arts in teaching and endorsements in health education and culinary arts and hospitality.
She is married, with three kids and three grandchildren.
She decided to come to Centennial because she grew up in East County.
“Centennial has a wonderful reputation,” said Wissler.
She also mentioned that CHS is a “warm community driven school” and she wanted to be part of that.
“The (culinary) students are really well trained. All the staff has been really supportive,” she stated.
“I love it, it’s been wonderful,” she said.
