Football Looks To End 3-game Skid Tomorrow
The Eagles head into tomorrow’s game against Sandy with an overall record of 3-4 after losing three weeks in a row. The league record of 0-2 could be misleading as they played two strong teams–Central Catholic and Barlow–and lost 42-19 and 54-0, respectively.
Coach Butch Self said,“Played really well in the first half, outscored us in the 3rd quarter and pretty much tied 4th quarter.”
The Eagles played Barlow last Thursday and had 6 turnovers, which “Makes it hard to win with that many turnovers,” said Self.
“I saw a lot of players doing things that don’t show up on stats,” stated Self, noting there were still positives despite the loss.
“The way our offense run, we get the ball to a whole lot of different players each game,’’ he said.
“It’s a new week, Self said about tomorrow’s game against Sandy. “We don’t focus on what happened last game, we need to win the next two games in order to control our own destiny and make it to playoffs.”
Sandy has the same record as the Eagles, and it appears to be a good match-up for both teams.
“We’re gonna use our speed against them and spread them out,” said Self.
