A Freshman Takes A Look At First Weeks At CHS

My first month of CHS  went pretty smooth. On my first day I was really terrified, nervous, and scared because I didn’t know how things were going to go, and were my classes were located.

After that I got the hang of it and everything was fine. All my classes were great, and in most of them I have A’s .

After a couple of weeks I started to realize that it was getting a bit boring, and homework started pile up.

As the weeks kept going I was getting stressed and overwhelmed because of all the work, and worst of all the quizzes and tests started to come.

I just kept telling myself,“I’m never going back to school in my life,” but as you see I came anyway.

Though high school has been very frustrating with homework and my Quinceanera dance practice after school, I had one big opportunity which is Speech and Debate.

It was really good because it’s going to help me with my future career, which is to become a lawyer, and I also get college credits which is even better.

Another thing that has happened is that I got in for the tournament for Speech and Debate and I get to read out my own poems which is really exciting.

Something that I would like to comment about is the time when school starts,  it’s way too early. School starts at 7:40 a.m, but I have to get there 50 minutes earlier for Speech and Debate, which means I have to wake up at 6 am.

I’m one of those people who would like to go to sleep early and wake up late.

So even though there’s been some ups and downs, I’m really looking forward to this school.
