A: She graduated from Gresham High School, and also graduated from Portland State.

A: She is a “Gresham native” and has lived here with her family since she was young.

A: She worked at Powell Butte Elementary for three years prior to Centennial.

 

Q: Why Centennial?

A: She came to Centennial to see what it is like working with older students.

A: She is the new Attendance Secretary at Centennial.

A: She said that she is” Loving the difference between elementary school environment and high school environment.”

A: She has been teaching for two years prior to this year which will be her third year.

A: She graduated from University of Redland which is in southern California.

A: She graduated from Beaverton High School and most of her family lives in Beaverton.

A: For the last two years she worked at Rex Putnam High School.

A: She chose to come to Centennial because it is the only high school in the district.

A: This year she will be teaching chemistry which is new to her since she previously taught biology.

A: She said that the “students are really nice and welcoming.”

A: This is his first year teaching.

A: He attended Seminole High School in Florida, and graduated from Liberty University in Virginia.

A: He is married, with two kids.

A: He worked as a serial entrepreneur, before going into teaching.

A: He was excited that the students were thirsty for marketing business projects.

A: He teaches Marketing, Intro to Business Leadership, Advanced Business Leadership, Business Leadership, Expanded Options, Business Ownership, Business Ownership Applications, Business Ownership Practicum, and T.A Business.

A: He likes to camp and fish.

A: He’s excited to be here; students and staff were very welcoming and nice.

A: He has been working as an administrator for five years (including this year) in total; he worked at Reynolds for four years, and this is his first year as an administrator at Centennial.

A: He transferred to Centennial because it was a closer drive.

A: He likes to travel and explore the outdoors, as well as being a sports enthusiast.

A: This is her first year at CHS as a educational assistant (EA).

A: She studied in Maryland.

A: She worked at Providence Medical Center for 17 years before going into subbing for three months.

A: The students and staff are friendly and helpful.

A: She is an educational assistant and helps students.

A: She likes to make crafty jewelry, write poetry and salsa dance.

A: She previously worked in the Gresham school district.

A: She said, “ I wanted to be part of the community and feel valued.”

A: This year she is teaching conceptual physics.

A: She likes to cook, hike, and play tennis.

Q: How long has he been teaching?

A: He’s been teaching for 23 years!

 

Q: College?

A: He went to college at Portland State for his undergraduate, Warner Pacific for teaching and Lewis and Clark for his master’s.

A: He is married and has two boys.

 

Q: Where did he work before?

A: He has worked at high schools in Sandy, Estacada, West Linn and Glencoe High School in Hillsboro.

 

Q: Why Centennial?

A: He was excited to come because of the district as a whole, and because he knows a lot of people in this district.

A: Freshman english is what he teaches.

 

Q: What are some hobbies/interests?

A: He is interested in archery and likes to wrestle, read and travel.

 

Q: How does he feel about working here so far?

A: He’s really happy to be here and for the opportunity to be the football coach!

Adrian Castillo Joins Custodial Staff

Q: How long has he been working in maintenance/custodial work?

A: He’s been doing school custodial work since December of last year.

 

Q: College?

A: He studied in Mexico!

 

Q: Family?

A: He has family in Veracruz, Mexico.

 

Q: Where did he work before?

A: He currently works at Harold Oliver and Centennial. He used to run his own business in California.

 

Q: Why Centennial?

A: He likes the structure and discipline about Centennial, and he likes to help students while wanting to contribute to the student community. He wants to be an advocate and to perhaps prevent future school tragedies.

 

Q: What are some hobbies/interests?

A: He likes to share his dancing with everyone, and share the christmas mexican traditions with kids. Every year, he puts together a “Nacimiento”, the christmas nativity, which he makes from decorations that he finds from recycled and garage sale pieces; he likes salsa dance and playing volleyball and soccer. He also learned english on his own!

A: It’s important for him to provide good quality work every day, and his goal is to help students as much as he can.
