The Centennial baseball team picked up a big win last Friday beating 22nd ranked Barlow 2-1 at home. It was a huge win for the Eagles because it secured them a play in game at McNary High School this evening at 5pm.

McNary is an up and down team having beaten 5th ranked West Salem while also losing to 20-6 to Aloha, but since this is an elimination game expect the Celtics to come out aggressive and with their A game. Coach Eric Fogle had some comments about McNary stating that they are “a well coached team that doesn’t make many mistakes” .

The Eagles have entered the playoff part of the season where rankings no longer matter and every game is an elimination game. Yesterday Fogle said, “For us to win we need to command the strike zone pitching wise, our defense needs to support our pitcher, and we need to be aggressive on the bases.”

This is the second year in a row that the Eagles have essentially made the playoffs, last year they won their first round playoff game and this year’s goal should be no different. For the seniors this is their last run so expect them to go out there and give it their all. Coach added “(It) should be a great, competitive game!”
