National Honors Society Hosts Valentine’s Day Fundraiser
The National Honor Society is helping to fight cancer with its annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser which will raise money for the Hearts of Joy through the Children’s Cancer Association.
Kathy Thiebes, teacher and NHS advisor, is enthusiastic about the upcoming fundraiser.
“This is our fifth year doing it,” Thiebes declared.
This National Honor Society fundraiser is going to take place from today, Wednesday, February 7 until the end of the month, and members of NHS will be at a table outside of the cafeteria during lunches and they will be selling them around different classrooms.
Students can either donate $1.00, or $5.00.
When students donate to the fundraiser, they will receive a paper heart to be put on the wall of the main hallway and a piece of candy.
“Since doing it, we’ve raised about $3,000.00 (in total),” stated Thiebes.
Thiebes also has a personal goal in relation to the NHS fundraiser. “I’m hoping to raise around $700.00 (this year).”
