Centennial Heads Into Second Half of League Play
The 3-15 Centennial Eagles are facing off against the 10-8 Clackamas Cavaliers at 7:30 tonight.
The Eagles are coming off a tough loss to the Oregon City Pioneers Tuesday as they led the game for the most part, but were unable to seal the deal as the Pioneers pulled away. Clackamas on the other hand is coming off of a win against the Gresham Gophers.
Centennial is still looking for its second league win, and it’ll start on the offensive end for the Eagles.
David Kunda is the leading scorer with 14 points per game, but the Eagles are still the second lowest scoring offense in the Mt. Hood Conference, only edging out Reynolds. If they can string together a good offensive game the Eagles will have a really good chance because of their defense. The Eagles have allowed the second least amount of points in the Mt. Hood Conference showing that they’re a great defensive team.
The keys for the game will be to be efficient on the offensive end and not have many turnovers. Eli Porterfield, a senior guard had this to say about the matchup, ”We need to box out well and take care of the ball to win the game.” John Doumit a senior forward also added, “To win the game we need to play all 32 minutes with energy.”
