Gresham Slows Baseball Momentum; Playoffs Still In The Future
The Centennial Baseball currently has a record of 10-12 and are ranked 27th in the state, but is somewhat deception as the team has been hot lately. T
he Eagles were on a six game win streak until going up against Gresham this week, losing the last two games to them. In the first game the Eagles pitching struggled, giving up 12 runs.
In the second game the team’s pitching improved but the batting wasn’t good enough, only scoring one run.
The Eagles are also third in the Mount Hood Conference with a record of 9-5. Speaking about the recent games Coach Kevin Christie said, “We’ll be fine. We need to go back to the way we were playing before Gresham.”
If the Eagles can put the offense and defense together for their final game against Gresham on Thursday, they’ll have a good chance at taking them down. After the Gresham series the team closes out the season with a two-game stint against 5-18 Barlow.
