Baseball Wins 3 of 4; Plays Central in DH Tomorrow
The Team Beat the Rams 6-1 Monday!
The Centennial baseball team currently has a record of 5-10 and is ranked 26th in the state. The Eagles have bounced back from early season struggles by winning three out of the last four games with wins against Central Catholic, Reynolds and Clackamas. The key to the Eagles newfound success has been the bats; they have scored 14 runs in the last four games.
For the team to continue winning Coach Kevin Christie said that the pitching needs to become more consistent. “When the pitching was good we won the games. When the pitching was bad we lost them,” Christie said.
The last couple of games the team’s energy and effort has also been better than it was earlier in the season, he said.
The Eagles are currently in the midst of a three-game stretch against Central Catholic. They won the first game 6-1 at home Monday and play a double header at home tomorrow as well.
Next week the Eagles have another three game series against 47th ranked David Douglas. For the Eagles to finish the season strong they will need to “focus on one game at a time,” Christie said.
