Track Starts Fast; A Dozen Athletes Ranked Top 10

Track is off to a fast start with 130 participants.  The boys record is 2-4 and the girls are 4-0.  Here are some of the highlights for the season so far:

The All-Time Frosh Boys School Record for the 100m was set by Jimmy Barton when he placed first in the last meet against Clackamas and Central Catholic in the Varsity Boys 100m with a time of 11:23.  Barton broke a 50-year-old freshman school record that was previously set in 1967 by Steve Daiber.

Last week the girls team score was Centennial 84-Clackamas 6 and Centennial 77.5- Central Catholic 67.5.

The boys team score was Centennial 84-Clackamas 57. Centennial 65-Central Catholic 80.    

Here are the 12 athletes including the girls relay team ranked in the top 10 in the State in their respective events.

They Girls 4x400m Relay now currently 10th in State 4:18.17:  Alyssa Ronnfeldt, Shoshana Lewis, Christina Rodriguez, Chloe Smith.

Freshman Angel Aluesi is ranked 5th in State Girls Discus with a throw of 117′ 8″ (Now top 8 All-time School.)    

Maddie McHone, sophomore, is ranked 4th in State Girls High Jump 5’3″ and ranked 10th in State 300m Intermediate Hurdles with a time of 49:10.

Senior Alivia Jackson is ranked 10th in State Girls High Jump at 5’0.

Sophomore Sierra Schultz is ranked 3rd in State Girls Pole Vault at 10’6.

Senior Julia Colling is ranked 5th in State Girls Pole Vault at 10′.

Junior David Sanchez-Perez is ranked 5th in State Boys Pole Vault at 13’7.
