Before becoming a science teacher, Lisa Veatch was a lifeguard for 10 years.

     She then taught in Illinois before coming to Oregon. Veatch and her husband had wanted to live in Oregon for a long time. She has a 1-year-old child, two cats named Varla and Vincent, and a turtle named Dave.

      She loves to sew, knit and garden.
