Girls Tennis Holds Serve
Girls tennis is underway, and Coach Ben Petersen and the ladies are starting out this season great, looking to improve as the season progresses. They currently have a record of 2-3, and have been playing tough competition lately and hope to bounce back.
Sophomore Avelina Borovskiy and Junior Madison Scully are two players that are starting off the season great and have tons of potential to be great players. Petersen believes that for the girls to succeed this year they will need to, “Anticipate the opponent’s ability and shots. We spend a lot of our matches making great shots but forget to focus on how to make sure we win the match by finding out opponents weaknesses and taking advantage of those.”
The Eagles are a young and growing team with a lot of sophomores and juniors who are looking to return in the upcoming years. The tennis team is determined to become a great and successful team. In order to do that, they need to work hard each and every week, and learn from all of their mistakes so far.
Borovskiy said, ”We are having a pretty good season overall and need to work on a few things so we can reach our potential.”The girls are currently playing in one of the toughest leagues in the state and are ready to compete with any team in their way! The Eagles next match is next Tuesday at 3:30 as they host the tough Central Catholic Rams!
