Cheer Takes 10th Nationally

The cheer season ended on March 19 with a 10th place finish at Nationals that were held in Anaheim, California. Coach Carly Hendrick said, “It was an overall great season, I am so proud of them.”

One of their many strengths this season was the amount of dedication the program had. Hendrick said, “The new athletes brought a ton of passion towards the sport, which really changed things a lot for us.”

There are many things she is looking forward to next season. Especially trying to make Nationals again. “Hopefully the talent we have in our program will take us down that road to Nationals next year” said Hendrick. She is also looking forward to changing up the program by splitting up the season into fall and winter. “We are trying something new, but it will give a chance for people who are involved into winter sports like volleyball, soccer, and football to try cheer,” Hendrick said.

Tumbling has already began, and they are every Wednesdays in the gym, but will become mandatory in the fall. If any students are interested in joining cheer tryouts are on May 4-6 from 7-9 p.m. There will also be a mandatory pre-meeting on April 26 for new athletes to get information on the season.
