Feel The Bern
There are currently two Democratic candidates in the run for president: Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Clinton is currently leading the poll with over 1,750 votes from the pledged delegates and super delegates. Sanders is trailing by 700 delegates.
But there is only one candidate that America actually has a chance with: Bernie Sanders. “Bernie” is the only candidate who has stuck by what he stands for, and what he stands by isn’t bigoted, misogynistic, or racist (e.g. Donald Trump). Sanders, once becoming president, will be trying to help women’s right, raise minimum wage for those who are currently living off of it, and help immigrants get their citizenship easier instead of making it harder. As he has stated in many of his rallies, “As president, I will fight for comprehensive immigration reform that provides a road map to citizenship for the 11 million aspiring Americans living in this country. But I will not wait for Congress to act. I will take executive action to accomplish what Congress has failed to do and build upon President Obama’s executive orders to unite families.”
Although Sanders is obviously the better choice, Clinton has made a few valid points as well. On the subject of gun control, Clinton said, “As President, I’ll take on the gun lobby and fight for common sense reforms to keep guns away from terrorists, domestic abusers, and other violent criminals—including comprehensive background checks and closing loopholes that allow guns to fall into the wrong hands.” Clinton also has a lot of new opinions on subjects, such as abortion and gay marriage, supporting women’s rights, and homosexual rights.
Clinton is second-best in the democrat party, but even she’s the better choice when it comes to anyone running the Republican Party. Ted Cruz is fighting to ban abortion, is against gay marriage, and has said he would build a “Wall the works, and triple border security” when it comes to immigration. But, out of all the candidates running, every single one is better than Trump who is currently leading the polls for the Republican Party. This is so beyond what I thought America could allow… Trump has many instances of him being a misogynistic (“26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military –only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?”) racist, (“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best… They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crimes, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people.”) and an overall bully (“If I were running ‘The View’, I’d fire Rosie O’Donnell. I mean, I’d look at her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I’d say ‘Rosie, you’re fired.”) and yet people still vote for him, because he “speaks his mind.” I don’t understand at all!
Go vote. Go vote for Bernie, and if not Bernie, remember: DON’T VOTE FOR TRUMP.
