Stone Wins Two Titles at State Swim Meet

“Congratulations to all the Eagle swimmers for a successful swim season,” said coach Rod Lundgren.

The OSAA State Championships were held in February at Mt. Hood Community College. Jamie Stone defended her state titles in both the 50 and 100 freestyle, while in the process setting a new state record in the 100 freestyle. She has now won six state titles.

The boys team finished 14th in the 200 Freestyle Relay with Tim Ly, Nathaniel Sherret, Sam Dorning, and Christian Tucker. Tim Ly finished 11th in the 200 Freestyle and 5th in the 100 Butterfly, while setting a new school record. In the 100 Breaststroke, Austin Suh placed 14th.

The girls 200 Medley Relay finished 15th with Savannah Helwig, Amber Suh, Amanda Ly, and Jamie Stone.

“I thought it was a great season. We had one of the largest turnouts in the history of the school. We qualified boys and girls relay for the state championship which is extremely rare!,” said Lundgren.

Tim Ly set a new school record and Jamie stone broke her record with an improvement of .5 seconds! She is the undefeated state champion (6-0),” said Coach Lundgren.
