Golf season has nearly arrived.  The first golf meet will be tomorrow at The Dalles High School.

Coach Tom Young has been the coach for four years.  This year he stated a major goal is “to field a full team, as we haven’t in three years.”  He believes they will accomplish this.  He noted that he is looking for more golfers, particularly freshmen to help complete the team.

Young said that key returning golfers of Travis and Josh Maes are very important to the program.  Additionally, he stated that the graduation of Dylan Browning will hurt the program as he was the lone member to reach State last year.

Young said he believes that Clackamas will win the conference championship.  

Young said “We have to improve and develop, but first field a full varsity program.”  

He said that this year he expects lots of improvement from all golfers and to hopefully send a few of them to state.  If anyone is interested in joining  the golf team contact  Young in room 132.
