Hubbs Heads Curriculum Department
Angela Giulianio Hubbs will be the new Director of Curriculum and Student Learning starting July 1, replacing Cheryl Williamson who will retire in June.
According to Superintendent Sam Breyer Hubbs was the strongest candidate from a strong pool of applicants.
Before becoming a Curriculum Director, Hubbs taught middle school social studies in New York and San Diego. She also served as an administrator, assistant principal, then principal, and finally a Director of Teacher Development for King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools in San Diego, CA. She received her teaching degree from Columbia University in New York. As of right now she is the Assistant Director of Instruction, Curriculum and Assessment for Portland Public Schools.
Breyer also states that she brings both substantial content knowledge and a reputation for collaboration and stakeholder input. He said her experiences in a variety of roles and communities will strengthen the excellent work being done in Centennial.
“Angela has done jobs in lots of different areas and roles, she’s got a fantastic background, strong skills and she will be great for Centennial,” commented Breyer.
