Boy’s Soccer Season Wrap-up
The boy’s soccer season ended with a loss to Reynolds on October 22 as the team finished with an overall record of 1-11-2.
First-year Coach Nick Yoder said, “I feel pretty good overall. We played really well most of the games and did a lot of things that I thought were positive although we just didn’t get the results we wanted (which was) mainly from our difficulty in scoring.”
Converting on chances is the main thing the team struggles with Yoder noted. For example, in the Reynolds game Centennial dominated play for the most part, however not being able to capitalize on opportunities was their downfall.
Yoder looks forward to upcoming seasons. He said ”I told the guys at the beginning of the season that we’re building something for the future and that takes a solid foundation. The plan is to continue for many years and grow the program into a real contender.”
Yoder’s focus for next season lies completely on their weaknesses. Yoder hopes the team gets stronger offensively. He’s confident they will be able to achieve this. As far as the off season he plans to have his players spending more time shooting and building attacking plays in their games.
