Silly Little Q & A with ASB President Maleek Cruse

Thomas Sato, Staff Writer

Maleek how you doing, how are you feeling?

How am I feeling about what?

About the general state of affairs?

I don’t know, man, I’m just here. That’s all I can ever say right now.

What is the best thing about being in Student Council?

I’m not very fond of planning things. I like doing what others tell me, I like lifting boxes, I like just doing someone else’s plans.

What has been your favorite class that you’ve taken here at Centennial?

My favorite class has been AP Psychology with Mr. Ruuttila.

If I were a genie and I offered you one wish, what would you wish for?

Omnipotence. Why not?

If I were a woman and you were taking me out on a date, where would you take me?

Coffee.  Places like the movies are is kind of just taking all of the experience away.

What are your life goals and aspirations?

I don’t know what I want to do, man, I’m just going to get a job and do boxing and that’s it.

Who is your favorite president of the United States?

Abe Lincoln.  Mr. Penny.

If you were president of the United States, what would be your first executive order?

Make Texas put their mask mandate back.

As a dear friend, if I came up to you and I said “Maleek, I have this problem and I need your help. I think I’ve fallen in love with my AI,” what advice would you give me?

If it’s not illegal, I don’t really care.

What is the meaning of life?

Now I just think you’re making up garbage. There is no meaning of life, just do whatever the hell you want.

What are you looking forward to after graduating from high school?

Living alone.

If you kidnapped me and the U.S. government paid off the ransom, would you kill me or release me?

I’m going to get caught regardless, so you know, I don’t feel like adding to those charges. Like it goes from maybe not leaving prison to definitely not leaving prison.

Maleek, what does your mom think about me?

I don’t think my mom even knows who you are.

What is one experience from elementary school that has stuck with you to this day?

There was this time when I told this person that [REDACTED] had a crush on a girl, and then this person proceeded to tell the entire sixth grade class. Do I feel remorseful? Never.

If you could be any animal under three feet tall and without wings or gills and a body mass under 25 kg, what would you be?

Under three feet tall? No wings? What am I, just waiting to die?

If you were the lead architect and you had to build a 100 foot tall statue of some historical figure, who would it be, where would you build it, and what material would you use?

Gandhi, out of wood.  It’s not gonna last very long, I can tell you that.  Replace the Statue of Liberty, put it right there.

Do you like my shirt?

I guess… I wouldn’t wear one myself.
