The students on the Centennial High School track team have pushed themselves again and again to victory. The team celebrated victories against Hillsboro, Milwaukee, and Valley Catholic on April 9th, 2025.
Alana Allen, junior, said, “I feel like I did amazing at the meet. I personally got 3 PRs (personal records) in high jump, my 300 hurdles, and 4×4, and we PR’ed as a whole team. My biggest challenge would have to be pushing myself even though I was beyond tired and my legs felt heavy.”
With the intensive training for all of the events and practice every everyday after school, it is no surprise that Centennial earned so many PRs at the meet. 107 to be exact, with some kids even having them in multiple events. Some students did so well that some athletes might go to the state tournament if they keep up the good work at the next couple of meets!
Jonah Corrigan, a freshman, said, “I felt great at the meet. I got a PR in all my events, which are the 300m hurdles, 110 hurdles, and the 4×1 relay. One of my biggest challenges for this meet is my form for the hurdles, but I will improve.”
With all the help from all the different coaches, the Centennial track team is sure to become victorious again in the future meets and even possibly at state!
The Centennial track team has more meets for you to come and watch and support at events in the future. You can find the schedule on the CHS athletic website.
