The hallways of a high school are the hotspot for most students and their friends. But is it always the best spot to just stop and talk? Not always. Most students aren’t necessarily aware of when they stop sometimes, and that’s the main issue.
The hallways during passing time are the crowdest places to be. And during passing time some students may feel anxiety entering the hallway, simply not knowing if you’re going to be bombarded by people. Or if suddenly somebody stops in front of you and causes you to bump into them. It’s an embarrassing thing to encounter with somebody you do not know.
When students stop in the hallway, it’s like they expect you to go around them. When you go to ask a random student “excuse me, please” sometimes they may give you a mean look, or just not even acknowledge your existence, and that’s only one of the issues. Some students may not care if they’re in your way at all.
Students with large friend groups are always the best kind of friend groups. They’re funny, obnoxiously loud for no reason, and most of the time a happy looking group of friends. But what’s the one place they choose to talk and catch up? The hallways. The main hallways in front of the cafeteria are always the most crowded. Large groups of students like to group up near the middle of the hallways to stand and talk, laugh with each other, while they seemingly expect other students to go around them.
But because these large spaces take up space in the hallways, it also prevents other students from arriving on time to classes sometimes. Since they have to zigzag around the school to just get to class, it sort of slows a person down. Being able to talk and stand around, and laugh with your friends is always a good time. But it’s always a good thing to keep in mind that you could be in the middle of the hallway, and be aware of your surroundings. Some students could be rushing to take a test, or they could be late to an appointment they need to make. Always put yourself in the other person’s shoes and be mindful of other people.
