Girl’s Basketball Gearing Up For Stretch Run

Centennial Girls Basketball currently holds an overall record of 8-10 and a league record of 4-4. Tonight, they face a strong Clackamas team with a 17-1 overall record and 8-0 league record. Clackamas is currently ranked third in the state.

Earlier this week the Eagles suffered a tough loss to a good Oregon City team, 86-23. Coach Jeff Stanek noted the strength of Oregon City’s pressure and pre-game jitters on the performance against Oregon City. The Eagles had a season high 38 turnovers.

In order to reach the playoffs, the Eagles have to secure the fourth spot in the Mount Hood Conference. Additionally, David Douglas is a must win game in order to make the playoffs. Beating two out of three of Gresham, Barlow, Reynolds is also necessary to reach the playoffs.

Leading scorers for the year include junior Dominique Andrews at 14 points per game, sophomore Ellie Basinski at 7 points per game, junior Madison McHone, junior Allie McKee, and junior Lillie Ramsey all average around 5 points per game.

Tonight’s game is at Clackamas at 6 pm.
