Rod Lundgren has been coaching the Centennial swimming team for a total of 18 years. Lundgren’s goal for this season is place as high possible in the league championships.

This year the swim team has a large number of newcomers joining the team as well as two returning record holders.

There’s a “wide variety of backgrounds and swimmers,” said swim team Coach Rod Lundgren.

The ultimate goal for this year is to get as many swimmers at Districts as possible to score points, he said.

This season they will work on getting those beginning swimmers to the varsity level to fill up all of the lanes, which they weren’t able to do at the their meet last Thursday at Reynolds.

Centennial did win the events below:

Amy Hua-200 Medley and 500 freestyle

Avelina Borovsky-50 and 100 freestyle

Tim Ly-100 butterfly and 100 back

Ryan Standley-500 freestyle

Erica Nguyen-100 backstroke

Centennial lost at the end with the final score of a ranking of 83-70 for women and 92-76 for men.  This was due mostly to not being able to fill all events.
