Food for Families is an organization that is produced by the Future Business Leaders of America organization.

Future Business Leaders of America, or FBLA, is one of the largest student groups at Centennial and is responsible for a variety of activities throughout the year.

  • March of Dimes, a company that raises money for babies that are born early or with defects, by selling paper hearts to the community. This year alone, FBLA has raised $300.
  • Food for Families, the mobile bus that gives food to those in our community that cannot afford groceries. Contact adviser Adriann Hardin (503.762.6180 ext 5507) for information on either donating or receiving Food for Families items.
  • Closet to Closet is an organization for those that cannot afford clothes. All items are donated from the community.
  • Demolition Dodgeball is an annual fundraiser for FBLA.
  • Eagle Scream Fest, an annual Halloween event for young children that donates profits to Food for Families.

FBLA President Jerry Vuong, senior, said, “FBLA is a student Organization that brings business and education together.”

Advisor Adriann Hardin said, “Kids learn business through non-profits, how to sell and market products, learn how to work with the community and have real life experiences.” She adds that “The most fun is at competitions!”

Members have the opportunity to compete at state, which is a fee of $200,  but Hardin says that can easily be paid for by fundraising throughout the year.

Member Sheila Trnjanin said FBLA is great because, “People can compete or can have an opportunity to be involved in the organization.”

Hardin says students interested in any of the FBLA activities should stop by room 107.
